Just Me and my HPV: Act 1-Scene 1: The Diagnosis

Hi. My name is Kate. I recently found out that I may have cervical cancer. This kind of cancer is caused by a virus called HPV –the Human Papaloma Virus (yes the same virus that causes genital warts–although luckily I dont have any of those nasty things!). HPV is incredibly prevalant–more than 50 % of all sexually active persons in the US will get the virus–although only about 4-6 very bad types cause Cervical Cancer. This is my story

There should be no maybe, go to another doctor for another opinion. Dysplasia is not always caused by the HPV virus. Dysplasia can be caused by baceteria vaginosis, douching, bumping of the cervix. Make sure. Also know LEEP conizations and chemical treatments that have been known to caue nerve damage of the cervix, vaginia and genital area causing chronic pain and sexual dysfunction. HPV can and does clear up on its own.

Hi Kate. I think what you should do now is to go on with your life. Life for you musn't end here. Everything happens for a reason and I know you can surpass this challenge that He had put you through. Don't be angry with your husband or yourself.

Continue to love your husband, Kate and live your life to the fullest.

TAKE CARE & GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS

Hey Katie Holmes has herpes, but do you see her bitching….

AStatePlayer @ 1:48 pm

Calm down, you have HPV not HIV! Everyone's going to get it sooner or later! I don't have it though I don't think…

NoCuntysPlease @ 2:40 pm

Response to pozsupport: HPV is not herpies, it is not even in the same family as herpies. And to Kate, don't feel so bad. One fact that should help to clear your fear: 80% of sexually active women will get HPV by the time they are 50 years old. That's alot of women. Good luck to you.

The thing about HPV is 85% of the sexually active population carries HPV. A small amount of carriers develop symptoms, but they can still spread it.. Men can get colon cancer from this. It's not just a female disease.

I'll hold off offering any real comment until I've seen your second video and had a chance to talk to you.

But I will say, for what it's worth, my heart goes out to you.
