Genital warts happen with unprotected sex and if you did it with a person who is a carrier of the HPV virus, chances are that you will be getting these warts as well. You can get these warts in and around your genitals and anus and in some cases, in the mouth from oral sex. HPV virus is very common but the numbers of people who develop these warts are a few unlucky ones. Though not fatal, this wart can cause major embarrassment.

Though you have STD, genital warts aren’t fatal like some of their related cousins. There is no medication at the moment that completely eradicates the warts and virus but these medications help relieve the symptoms.

This however should be done by a doctor or medical professional and often takes a few visits before the warts are completely gone and the skin and tissue affected are destroyed. The liquid nitrogen treatment is quite painless but not commonly used as it is not always possible to use this process owing to the area to be treated.

Other ways of treating it is with electro -cattery or the emerging laser wart removal process. Also not guaranteeing complete eradication, the laser treatment is becoming increasingly popular. Having warts on your skin can be a lot serious apart from just being ugly protrusions as it could be a sign of a certain growth, though these warts are considered as harmless benign tumors.

Of course, having protected sex is a good prevention method.
