Genital Wart Cures: Getting Rid Of Unwanted Menace
Genital warts are gray colored outgrowths that are commonly found near the genital area of both men and women. The infection of genital warts is scientifically called as Condyloma acuminata and is a very common sexually transmitted disease. Genital warts are caused by a virus called HPV. The full form of the HPV is human papillomavirus. During the onset of this infection most of the men and women don’t realize that they have a HPV infection.
Genital warts are highly contagious and affect people of the age group of 17 to 33 years. If you have an intercourse once with an individual who has genital warts, you have a 60 percent chance of contracting the disease. Most genital warts don’t cause any pain, but the area where they are found is often very sensitive so a slight movement or pinch can cause a lot of discomfort. Individual genital warts are often bearable; however, when these genital warts join together, they cause great pain and discomfort.
Once you have realised that you have genital warts, you need to take a lot of care and precautions so that it does not spread to your partner. Use of latex condoms can prevent the spread of the infection, however, it is not a foolproof method and there are chances that the infection may spread despite the use of condoms. The genital warts are very infectious in nature and hence you should not touch them. Furthermore, you must not squeeze or pick them.
No single treatment is recommended for the genital wart removal. Most often it is seen that the genital warts fall off on their own and don’t require medical intervention. There are many websites and advertisements that claim to have made a break though in the cure of genital warts. These websites have also devised genital wart remover gadgets and instruments. The authenticity of these genital wart remover gadgets and instruments is still in question and a lot of debate surrounds it in the medical fraternity.
Before starting with any treatment for genital warts it is suggested that you do a lot of research on the different treatment options. Log on to the Internet and type “how to get rid of genital warts” in the search box of any popular search engine such as Google.
There are many medications that are available in the market today for the cure of genital wart. Some of these medications may be effective whereas most are ineffective. In addition, the individual using the medication also has to bear with the side effects of the medications. There are many home remedies that are used for the genital wart cures. One such home remedy is the use of vitamin E oil and garlic. It is a know fact that garlic has ant-microbial properties and is very effective in genital wart cures.
To start with the vitamin E and garlic home remedy, you need to first apply the vitamin E oil on the genital wart area. Then, take some raw garlic and crush it. Finally, apply the crushed garlic over the infected area. You may need an adhesive tape to cover the crushed garlic. After a week, the genital wart will fall off.
The application of Apple cider vinegar is also a very good home remedy for the genital wart cures. For the application of the apple cider vinegar, you need to take a cotton ball and dip it in apple cider vinegar and then apply the wet cotton ball on the infected area. Please do not pour the apple cider vinegar directly on to the infected area as it may cause a burning sensation.
Other popular treatments for genital warts are surgery, Cryotherapy, Laser treatment, and Electrodesiccation. The common medications used for the treatment of genital warts are
o podophyllum resin
o trichloroacetic acid
o podofilox (Condylox)
o Interferon alpha-n3 (Alferon N)
o 5-Fluorouracil (Efudex)
o imiquimod (Aldara)
After the above treatments, most of the times the genital warts don’t resurface; however, most of the treatments and medications don’t guarantee that the genital warts will be completely cured. During surgery, the genital warts are completely cut off from the surface, but the viral infection still remains embedded. This can cause the genital wart to resurface after some time.
