Diagnosis: Genital Warts – The Permanent Solution

You walk into the bathroom one day and get the shock of your life when you look down below and hey, presto!  Tiny, blister-looking bumps have clumped together on your most private parts.  Hopefully, these are very few in number, which means you caught them while in the early stages and are relatively easy to rid off.  Worse scenario, what you thought was a little rash had turned into a messy, ugly mass of blisters that not only itch, but start to get a little stingy as well. “Congratulations,” the doctor tells you later that day, “you’ve got genital warts.”

And thus begins the semi-permanent commitment to removing genital warts and preventing them from ever coming back.

While this may sound like total fiction, it could very well happen to any one of us and quite easily, too.  For one thing, genital warts, caused by the Human Papillomavirus or HPV for short, are passed on really easily.  One single skin contact is all the virus needs to lay root and cause mayhem.  So while you may be really confident YOU are not the culprit, how sure are you that your partner isn’t?

As with most highly contagious infections, early detection saves the day.  The good news is that trying to cure genital warts is much easier than you think.  From home remedies to genital warts medication and creams, to more aggressive procedures like laser surgery and cryotherapy – getting cured from these awful lesions today is not an impossible feat.

Home remedies that are proven to be extremely effective in curing genital warts often use the same ingredients – vinegar, yoghurt (unsweetened and natural) and some herbs like basil and rosemary.  Taking in buttermilk on a regular basis is also proven to be really good at keeping genital warts at bay, after you are cured of them.

Home remedies are well-received simply because they use natural products which are generally less harsh on the skin and body.

Another option for removing genital warts permanently is with creams and solutions.  Some of these are:

1.    Wartrol wart treatment – proven to be an effective genital warts medication, particular for those on the penis and vagina.  Within only a few days of application, warts can be seen to be less intense and reduced in number.

It is recommended that treatment with Wartrol last for at least six months.  This is when most patients testify to be completely cured and experience zero recurrence.  Using Wartrol does away with any need for surgery, laser or otherwise.  This medication also leaves no permanent scars.

2.    Dermisil is another genital warts medication that has a good track record.  Perfect for mild to moderate wart infections, this solution destroys genital warts faster than any other wart medicine.

Using Dermisil should only be with a total commitment to a lifestyle change, as it works best as a fast temporary relief to the current problem.  Unlike Wartrol, Dermisil does not guarantee a non-recurrence.  It may be wise, however, to use some easy home remedies to complement its usage – like cleaning the genital area regularly with water mixed with a spoonful of vinegar twice a day.  Check on which home remedies fit best with your schedule to find one that is easiest for you to do.

3.    Podofilux is also recommended.  Safe enough to use on your own in the privacy of your home, it has a high success rate and is pretty effective in preventing a recurrence.
Other genital warts medication have been prescribed (maybe even by your doctor!) which may be just as effective.  As with any other medication, some may warn of possible mild side effects, mainly local skin irritation that will continue as long as the medication is still used.

Of course, the effectiveness of these wonderful creams and solutions will be sorely tested for the more vicious genital warts infections – which means you will need to resort to more drastic measures, like cryotherapy (where the warts are frozen off), laser surgery (they get burnt off) or surgery (the doctor cuts them off, roots and all).  Of these, the third provides the most permanent solution with the smallest possibility of recurrence.

No genital warts medication or medical procedure can cure you of ever contracting them again if you do not consciously change your sexual habits or preferences.  As genital warts are transferred only through sexual encounters (even those not amounting to complete intercourse), it would be wise to practice a little more discretion in picking your partners in future.  And making sure your partner does the same.
